Hello, I am Kelly Chapman, KCK9

Having always had dogs in my family home as a child, my journey into dog training started when I was 15 years old.

I attended the local dog training classes with my collie mix, Meg. A couple of years later, I was invited to watch a working trial event. My passion for tracking and search work began, and remains to this day! My dogs found tracking and scent work mentally and physically enriching, and we began to compete. It greatly enhanced our relationship and bond together.

Although, having a dog in our lives is not always unicorns and rainbows!

Years ago, when one of my dogs started showing signs of fear and anxiety, I decided to learn more about canine behaviour. This led me to get my qualification as a trainer. I’m always continuing my professional development. This allows me to continually grow and deliver scientific, evidence-based ethical practices for training dogs.

I have now been working and competing with dogs in trials for over 30 years.

We came to puppy classes when our working Cocker Spaniel Winnie was a few months old and we have now completed the foundation, bronze and now learning the Silver award!

We love Kelly's classes as much as Winnie! Winnie is such a pleasure and everyone compliments how well trained she is and that's all thanks to Kelly! We have learnt so much about advocating for Winnie, listening to her different queues, the importance of recall, capturing her good behaviour. When my rescue dog Romeo started back to basics he had done no training and was nervous around other dogs. Thanks to Kelly's classes he has grown in confidence and really enjoys his classes so much so he is on his third course. Would definitely recommend Kelly's training classes.

I and my Labrador Balu have been training with Kelly for a year now, we started on the basics. Now working towards our silver award.
I was unsure to start with as Balu being a lock down pup and as such was older than the others in the class, I needn’t have worried. Kelly’s classes are fun, rewarding and done with kindness and compassion for the owners and the dogs.
We are in a lovely class of like minded people who care about their dogs. We look forward to our weekly sessions.
