All of my training is based on kind, ethical techniques that build on the relationship between you and your beloved dogs. Building trust and understanding means that you achieve your goals in a calm and loving canine-human relationship.
Years ago, when one of my dogs started showing signs of fear and anxiety, I decided to learn more about canine behaviour. This led me to get my qualification as a trainer. I’m always continuing my professional development. This allows me to continually grow and deliver scientific, evidence-based ethical practices for training dogs.
I have now been working and competing with dogs in trials for over 30 years.
Puppy / Back to Basics
This course is specifically designed to unlock your puppy or young dog’s potential. I provide expert guidance every step of the way. You will learn key aspects of appropriate socialisation in a safe and controlled environment.
Everyday life skills help build puppies and young dog’s confidence and resilience.
We focus on relationship building between you and your young dog whilst making training for good basic behaviours, easy, fun and enjoyable for you both.
You will be provided with the theory aspect of training and socialisation for your young dog as well as having video tutorials to support your learning journey at home.
Foundation
Moving on from puppy / back to basics, our puppy foundation course focuses on advancing progressive life and handler skills.
The training will improve what you’ve already learnt, building strong levels of engagement and focus on you as an owner/handler, and building good management and reliability in different environments.
National Dog Training Awards
Bronze - Silver - Gold
These classes are for those who are looking to advance in their training or are specifically looking at working their dogs or wanting to compete in dog sports.
Many clients that progress to these levels from puppy classes, embark on an exciting, learning adventure, filled with fun for both dog and owner, regardless of whether they want to work or compete with their dog.
We currently have classes full of owners and their dogs that have been with us for a very long time and have become a really good social network and friend group, which I am very proud of.
One to One, Search & Scent and Gun Dog Training
Tracking
Teach your dog to use its superpowered sense of smell to follow a scent we cannot see or smell. Tracking is both mentally and physically rewarding, this is a fantastic outlet for hunting instincts and a great way to mentally enrich your dog.
Learn how to motivate your dog to follow a trail and find missing articles.
This mental stimulation leads to calmness and teaches your dog to concentrate. Excellent for any breed to have an opportunity to use their amazing olfactory system.Â
Search & Scent Classes
Scent detection is hugely beneficial to dogs using mental activity by tapping into the dog’s natural olfaction behaviours which provides a rewarding occupation.Â
In our specially designed courses, we use methods adapted from police dog handlers. This is a game-changer! Any breed, any age. This is hugely beneficial to build confidence in dogs that struggle with what’s going on in their environment. It’s hugely beneficial to busy dogs that need a job, dogs that are highly driven or owners that want to unveil what their dog’s nose is capable of!
Gun Dog Training
Introduce your dog to gundog skills by tapping into the natural instinct of hunting and retrieving.
Enhance your dog’s skill set master steadiness, quicker recalls, loose lead walking and teaching you to train your dog distance directional control and whistle training.Â
Improve things by working around distractions, and watch your dog advance through our grades system while producing a well-managed dog in your everyday life.
Behavioural
Dogs exhibit a wide range of behaviours, some of which we humans can find challenging.
To understand behaviour issues, I help dogs and owners build communication using positive methods from scientific up-to-date evidence.
I see all dogs as living sentient beings with emotions, needs and individual personalities. While being compassionate, I provide education on canine behaviour and give the utmost support and care.
